“Stop fighting,” said the Thin Wild Duke, “this game doesn’t seek out winners.”
Deep down, the skinny Walker knew. And he saw the mistake the second his mouth opened. But, he had anger forcing its way through his skin, and pointing it out made it worse. The words and the rapid move struck as an instinct, and in one short breath, his anger punched a hole in an innocent heart, leaving nothing but fear in its place. And after fear came contempt. And with contempt came silence.
But the Thin Wild Duke was already gone.
